Could you be a MenoTrainer?

We are looking to grow our team of MenoTrainers to run education, support and exercise sessions online and are looking for people who share our passion to support others to take control of their menopause.

Our MenoHealth at Work programme offers information, support and easy exercises that fit into everyday life to improve health, wellbeing and help people manage their menopause symptoms. Our MenoTrainers are:

  • friendly, professional and supportive

  • relatable role models who truly understand the menopause rollercoaster

  • well informed but resist the temptation to advise or prescribe, instead offering factual information, top tips and trustworthy sources for further support

We can give you all the training, knowledge and support you need to run our MenoHealth at Work sessions.

So what skills do you need to be a successful MenoTrainer?

  • Empathy – we don’t just deliver training, we understand the problems many people face by stepping into their shoes

  • Listening skills – the ability to actively listen without judgement

  • Good communication skills – we want to get everyone talking about menopause without embarrassment

  • Confidence – the style of support we offer is informal and you need to be able to talk confidently without reading notes

  • Quick thinking – so you can answer questions or signpost for appropriate professional advice

  • Willingness to learn and stay updated on menopause related topics

  • Comfortable and confident presenting and hosting online sessions

Want to find out more? Here’s how to apply to become a MenoTrainer.

  • Request the MenoTrainer information pack which will explain each of the following steps in more detail.

  • Submit your interest in becoming a MenoTrainer by answering the application questionnaire.

  • If you’re successful we’ll send you an information document on menopause symptoms with a checklist of things we’d like you to cover. Then we’ll ask you to record a 15 minute video on Zoom.

  • The next stage would be to arrange a video interview. If we think you’ve got the right skills to become a MenoTrainer and you have all the information you need to make a decision, we’ll sign you up to do the training course.

  • The MenoTrainer course is blended learning with approximately 20 guided learning hours. You’ll complete the eLearning on menopause which has ongoing assessment throughout. You also learn about presentation skills, time management and the technical ability to deliver sessions on various platforms.

  • You then attend a 4 hour practical workshop online where you are assessed on your ability to run the MenoHealth at Work sessions.

  • Once you’ve passed, you’ll then shadow another MenoTrainer and when you’re ready to run your own sessions, we’ll co-present with you until you’re competent and confident to go it alone. You will have all the templates you need to communicate with organisations about the MenoHealth sessions.

  • As we get requests for our MenoHealth at Work sessions we will liaise with you to arrange a convenient day and time to run the 10 week programme. Many organisations prefer to run the sessions during lunchtime, or after the working day.
